Excelsior!

We're thrilled to announce the release of Excelsior by Alma L. Carr-Jones. This gorgeous book offers praise and worship poetry, with several poignant story pieces at the end.

What is poetry to you?

Author Alma L. Carr-Jones answers this question in her introduction of the book:

“What poetry is to me — soul speaking to soul on various levels or depths. It can be intricately woven with various threads, cords, cables, etc., of the human existence, both abstract and concrete.

Poetry says, “For this one moment in time, my soul touches yours because I, too, understand.”

Poetry lets us know that we are not alone in our deepest feelings, thoughts, and experiences.

Come join us in this journey of poetry and story-telling, a journey of heart touching heart, soul touching soul. As you read and explore, you’ll discover the true essence of this book.

Excelsior!

Available on Amazon in paperback and on Kindle

About the Author

Alma L. Carr-Jones, who was born in Memphis, TN to Lula M. Carr, a preacher’s daughter, says that she never thought to live in times such as these, and that she never dreamed that her words would be used to give the masses hope in such times.

A resident of McKenzie, TN, her life's motto is, "Doing What I Can, While I Can with Care." Alma is a retired educator, and minister's wife.

Since her retirement as a teacher, writing has become her passion and calling. She says that to breathe is to write. Though she can write whatever is asked of her, she prefers to write words of encouragement for mankind and words of praise and of thanks to the Lord for His love of mankind.

Alma is a successful author and poetess who has produced 11 books to date, including Excelsior. Alma attributes all that she has accomplished to GOD, and this belief is reflected in the silver medallion she wears around her neck (and in the title of her second book of poetry), which reads, DEI Sub Numine Viget (Under GOD's Spirit, She Flourishes.)

Through her work as an author/poet, Alma proclaims her love for the Lord, His love for mankind, and her love for her fellowman by shouting from “the tallest mountain in her world.” She infuses hope and encouragement in her work.

About the Author:

Alma L. Carr-Jones, a beloved educator, poet/author, a retired educator and a motivational speaker, lives in McKenzie, TN. She is a successful author of nine books to date. Alma loves to write because, as she is fond of saying, “It is something I was meant to do.”

She is:

An Avid Inspirational Daily Blog Writer grammyalmascorner.com
A Highly Acclaimed Retired Teacher of 30 Years
Author of Nine Books
A Preacher’s Wife of 40 years
A w.o.w. (woman of work for the MASTER’s use)

This Christian lady is one who really tries to live up to her motto of “Doing What I Can, While I Can.” Since she is quite busy doing whatever her hands find to do, that old saying of wearing out instead of rusting out will be true of her. She says she wants to have made a difference in the lives of her fellowmen and to have built a legacy that will still speak, even after she is planted in the ground.

To have the treasure of this woman’s work in your home is to have a loving dose of life as viewed from the eyes of a preacher’s daughter’s daughter and the wife of a preacher. This woman has a heart of gold with arms big enough and ears tender enough to help any soul stay encouraged as they make their way toward Heaven. Alma is such a jewel of a woman that she says, when you see her doing something that you admire, “Don’t get it twisted; it is not me, but the glory of GOD shining through me.”

Get Yourself Up is available on Amazon in paperback and on Kindle and as an audiobook on Audible.

Look for the next books in the series, Lift Up Your Voice and Bear the Good News, releasing later this year.
